Destination Arts is a certified Safer Studio™ that focuses on a hierarchy of measures to create a safer environment beginning with requiring students and staff who are ill to stay home, followed by frequent hand cleansing and good hygiene practices, amplified cleaning, and making curricular and facility adaptations to minimizing contact and mingling. At DAC, the health and safety of our staff, students, guests, and communities has always been our highest priority – a commitment that has only been heightened at this time in history. That is why we have chosen to become certified as a “Safer Studio” following the guidelines provided by More than Just Great Dancing.   This accreditation is supported by using local and national guidelines to inform best practices for service continuity and re-opening in-person services.


We have also completed COVID-19 training in both General Best Practices and Cleaning and Disinfecting Surfaces and we are a participating CountOnMeNC business!

Steps We Have Taken To Keep Everyone Safe


✔️Sick students, staff and parents must stay home

✔️Daily staff/faculty health checks

✔️Drop-off only – lobby areas are closed until further notice (Parents for students age 6 and younger can walk them to their classroom and then will be asked to wait in the car during class. Everyone else will drop off at the front door to the building.)

✔️Social distancing markers throughout our facility

✔️New signage to guide our students throughout our facility

✔️Classrooms taped into 6 ft. x 6 ft. squares for keeping socially distanced during classes

✔️One small bag allowed per student, to be hung on hooks that are spaced 6 ft. apart

✔️Schedule adapted to minimize students letting in/out of classes at the same time

✔️Decreased class sizes

✔️Curriculum adapted to minimize contact and eliminate the sharing of props that can’t be easily wiped down

✔️Individual, distanced tumbling mats for each student in acrobatic classes, that are disinfected between each class

✔️Hand sanitizer stations readily available throughout the studio

✔️Water fountains closed until further notice

Policies for Students Returning To The Studio

◼️Sick or under quarantine? Take our dance/tumble classes at our Oak Ridge location live from home! We are a Tech-Enabled Studio™!

◼️Masks for Students & Staff: Our current NC Executive Order requires all staff and students over the age of 5 to wear a cloth face covering at all times in our facility. Masks for students under the age of 5 are at family discretion. Once the executive order expires, parents will be allowed to make their own decision for their children of all ages regarding masks and face coverings, unless another order is put into place. Anyone who cannot wear a mask due to developmental, medical, or behavioral health needs is exempt.

**Our staff is temperature checked on a daily basis, but we do not temperature check students because of current CDC recommendation. Parents or caregivers are strongly encouraged to monitor their children for signs of infectious illness every day. Students who are sick should not attend in-person.**
